Nine Mile Basic School
Nine Mile Basic School, in Jamaica, caters to up to 55 children, from ages 3 to 6.
The original building was setup with a few concrete blocks. It had a dirt floor and no roof, and the origintal structure was 15’ x 25’ 6” (i.e. 382.5 sf). The School is located at the end of the main road, at the entrance of the village.
Now, Nine Mile is getting some major renovations!
Six Envirolet® Waterless Toilets have been installed at Nine Mile Basic School to replace the old ones built with breeze blocks. We hope to post some pictures of the installed Envirolet toilets soon!
Nine Mile renews faith in some of the important elements of life, with breathtaking views that absorbing the natural beauty of the tranquil Jamaican countryside, as well as the more than 200 species of flowering plants and indigenous trees.
Nine Mile, situated high in the mountains on the beautiful island of Jamaica, is a small friendly village tucked away in the parish of St. Ann. This quaint hamlet is known as the birthplace of Bob Marley.
