University of Guelph 2006 Environmental Science Symposium
Envirolet® was invited to attend the 12th Annual University of Guelph Environmental Science Symposium to display and talk about our composting toilets.
We brought an Envirolet® MS10 in a cool new bright green colour (more on this in a future post!).
As you can see in the photos, this was a pretty casual affair with limited space so our team was small and our display was very minimal. All we had was a toilet and some brochures! A true Envirolet® road trip. Look for us in your city!
The Environmental Science Symposium is a small gathering of eco-minded people who come together to discuss and learn about various environmental issues. Each year a new theme is chosen.
The focus of the symposium this year was water. Very fitting for Envirolet®. The waterless aspect of most of our composting toilet systems was quite popular amongst the audience, who were very receptive and supportive of Envirolet®.
We also met a few current Envirolet® users!
There were many great guest speakers including Margaret Trudeau and Maude Barlow of the Council of Canadians.
Margaret Trudeau spoke of her experiences with WaterCan and stressed that we should avoid using bottled water (good advice!).
Conserving water was a popular theme, of course. Another common theme was that people around the world need to be in control of their own water. In other words, water should not be a commidity.
