Envirolet the Tundra Toilet in Alaska

Envirolet® Composting Toilet Systems installed in Alaska were discussed on NPR Radio’s Insight on KXJZ 90.9 in Sacramento, CA on December 18. Read about it here:

“Proper human waste disposal is a challenge in the tundra, where temperatures dip to 30 below. Today on Insight, a local student tells you how a remarkable $2,000 dollar toilet she has worked on has come to the rescue. Simone Sebalo is a part time Master’s student in Environmental Engineering. The compost toilet project is her Master’s thesis project.”

Wally and Pat in South Dakota sent us some nice photos and comments about their 10 year old Envirolet® Basic Plus installed in their cabin. The Basic Plus is a non-electric waterless self-contained model. They have since purchased a second system.
