Envirolet Provides Sanitation for Utah Yurt

Posted by Scott

BUZZ WORD They keep coming! This is about the 230th testimonial posted on Buzz so far with lots more to come! We think they show real-life applications with comments from real people. They might even give you some ideas of where you can add an Envirolet® You can read the all in Testimonials.

This one is from Todd in California who sent us his testimonial and photos of his Envirolet® DC12 composting toilet system installed in his Utah yurt. The DC12 is waterless and 12VDC.

He writes:

“My 8’X5’ outhouse is fully insulated, tiled, and has a shower. Compost toilet is working great. I don’t even have it hooked up to a 12 volt battery, and even after 8 people stayed at the yurt for 10 days straight, there was no scent! I was pretty amazed.”

Todd S.

Buzz Note: We do recommend that any 12VDC system be running as directed for best performance.

Photos with comments by Todd:

The Envirolet 12vdc battery unit. We will be purchasing a 12V battery to hook up to our current solar panel kit on the yurt.

The yurt and the outhouse are approximately 25ft apart.

This is the solar panel that will keep the 12v compost toilet battery charged.

We built an 8X5 outhouse that contains the compost toilet and a solar shower.

We installed the 4” wind turbine through our corrugated tin roof.

Thanks again, Todd. We appreciate it.

Envirolet Basic Plus in Wyoming

Posted by Scott

“Thanks Envirolet- you’ve made our camping experience a whole lot easier.”

Lance in Wyoming sent us some cool photos of his Envirolet® Basic Plus waterless composting toilet system installation on his camping property.

Lance writes:

“We are lucky to have found 2½ acres on Boulder Lake Wyoming located at the base of the Wind River Mountain Range.

No electricity to our property so Envirolet was our first choice and so far the system has been working perfectly.

We house the Envirolet in this custom made outhouse. Picture #3 is the view from the outhouse.

While we are on Boulder Lake we named the property Cow Pie Cove due to all the special treats the local cow population used to leave us.

We considered contacting Envirolet to see if they could offer us a solution for all the Cow Pies, but then we decided to Fence Out the cows and that resolved our issues.

Boulder Lake is located about 10 miles east of Pinedale, Wyoming at an altitude of 7000 feet.

We enjoy water skiing, wind surfing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and some spectacular scenery. Local wild life include Antelope, elk, lot’s of geese and the occasional coyote.

Thanks Envirolet- you’ve made our camping experience a whole lot easier.

What a view!

Thanks, Lance! Great photo and comments!

Hawaiian Envirolet Waterless Remote System

Posted by Scott

More Buzz!

Here is a testimonial and photo of a unique installation of a 12v Envirolet® Waterless Remote Composting Toilet System installed on the deck of a Hawaiian cottage. Mary was kind enough to send it in to Buzz.

“Here is a short document about the use of our composting toilet. I have attached photos. If you would like more commentary or another view of the installation I would be happy to provide that.

My husband and I installed the Envirolet composting toilet on the deck of our garden cottage in Hawaii one year ago. We have been pleased with the installation and the function of the composting toilet. The toilet unit has the wind powered fanning system and that has worked well. The unit produced a tray of odorless compost after six months daily use in our family of two. We have had our family and friends visit on several different occasions and the toilet system has worked well for us.”

Thank you,

Mary F.

You can see the Waterless Toilet on the deck and the remote composting unit below it:

Thanks, Mary! We appreciate it.

Thanks to Don for his photos and comments about the Envirolet® MS10 waterless composting toilet system installed in an outhouse structure at his camp in Wisconsin. Looks great!

He writes:

“I installed my unit in my Northern Wisconsin hunting camp because I was tired of all the complaining about the outhouse. I must agree that this is way more comfortable, especially when it is -10. My family helped me build replacement outhouse and my 14 year old daughter picked the colors.”

Envirolet MS10 customers in Missouri are "spreading the word" for us!

Posted by Scott

Max & Darla were kind enough to send us some photos and awesome comments about their Envirolet® composting toilet system installation in Missouri. They have an Envirolet® MS10 waterless 120VAC all-in-one model, probably the most popular composting toilet in North America. They write:

“We installed our Envirolet at our cabin in August of 2007. It is in the Ozarks of Missouri, and we use it approximately one or two weekends a month and in the summer a week or so at a time. Most of the time it is just my husband and I but we have had guests, and so far no complaints. We have only had to empty the tray two times and not sure if it needed it then. There has never been any smell from the unit. We have been more than pleased. Our land would not allow for a septic system as we seem to be on solid granite.

The first 50 years our cabin was used, the ‘outhouse’ was what was always dreaded about the vacations. So in the summer of 2007 the cabin was updated and enlarged with a full bathroom and spare room.

Needless to say we have been satisfied with our newest addition, “The Envirolet” composting toilet, and have been spreading the word. Hope some others catch on!

We are enclosing some pictures of our Envirolet and our “instructions” for use when our guests visit without us. We live 4.5 hours away so that is why we keep it unplugged.”

Max & Darla

Thank again for sending in your testimonial. We appreciate it!

This is not the first testimonial from Missouri. Check out some others here (2005) and here (2008). Also, check out hundreds of others from in the Testimonials section.
