Envirolet Waterless Remote in Minnesota

Here's another Non-Electric Envirolet Waterless Remote installation to join the hundreds of others.  This excellent Envirolet composting toilet system review and collection of installation photos was sent in by Cliff in Minnesota.  Envirolet provided the solution in an application where septic was going to be too expensive.


"We purchased the Envirolet remote toilet about four (4) years ago.  Initially it was installed without a bathroom in the cabin and we just put a temporary wall around it for privacy.  Everyone (especially the women) was thankful we could actually go to the bathroom in the cabin instead of using a rock or log.  This year we finally completed the bathroom in the cabin and we can’t be more pleased. 

Our cabin is located on Lake Vermillion in northern Minnesota.  The cabin is lake access only with no electricity, water, or septic system.  It would not be cost effective for us to put in a septic system because there really isn’t a way to get equipment in the right location to do the work.  We were going to put in the traditional outhouse but couldn’t because we kept hitting a rock shelf about three (3) down and we couldn’t get government approval to proceed.  The Envirolet toilet was the way to go as it eliminated the septic system and rock shelf problem.  Thanks."

Envirolet Waterless Remote in Ontario

Check out this nice Envirolet review and collection of installation photos we received from Daniella and Graham in Ontario.  They have a Non-Electric Envirolet Waterless Remote Composting Toilet System (with 12VDC Turbo Fan installed in the vent line).

"Hello,
 
Here are a few pictures of our waterless remote non- electric toilet installed on our property near Haliburton, Ontario 4 years age. We have had no problems with it. There is no smell, even at the height of summer warm weather and high usage.  We did install the exhaust fan in the chimney, attached to a 12V battery and solar panel, to increase the capacity.

We own a piece of property west of Haliburton. Since we currently have no cottage a composting toilet has been a great addition and environmentally friendly alternative to an outhouse. We have found the maintenance to be minimal (empty twice/ year) and appreciate how easy it is to clean.  The best part is that there is no smell (actually less than a conventional washroom!).
 
All of our visitors love it, especially compared to a "normal" outhouse.

Envirolet Basic Plus (Non-Electric) in New York

In a follow-up to their original Envirolet testimonial from 2008 (see it on Buzz here), Walter and Nancy in NY have sent in some more photos of their non-electric Envirolet Basic Plus waterless composting toilet system installation. We're glad we have been able to provide indoor plumbing at their camp!

They write:


"Dear Envirolet,


We installed a non-electric unit, with a 12VDC in line fan, in our remote camp in 2003. Our camp is located in upstate NY on the western edge of the Adirondacks. The Envirolet is installed inside our cabin. It is certainly a convenience in the cold of the winter to have indoor facilities. We empty it about twice yearly and are quite pleased with it’s function.


Our visiting friends are pleasantly surprised when they come to our "propane only" (no electricity, no plumbing) camp to have an indoor toilet available."

9-Year Old Envirolet MS10 in Michigan

Mel in Michigan sent some awesome comments about his Envirolet Waterless Self-Contained Composting Toilet System that has been installed and in use for the past 9 years.  Envirolet helped Mel save as much as $10,000!  Wow.  Read what he has to say below.

Mel writes:

"We have been using our self contained unit on a daily basis at our business for the past nine years.  By using the Envirolet system I have been able to avoid a ten thousand dollar fee of having a (2) sanitary sewer hook up installed.  Over the last nine years the only problem I had (thermostat on heater) was easily fixed in less than 15 minutes.  Right now the turbine on my exhaust pipe screams like a banshee hen when the wind is blowing quite strongly, but I am in the process of ordering a replacement and soon the screeching will stop.  I would strongly recommend an Envirolet system be installed when another system is not applicable or feasible."
