Hot or Not? You be the Judge...

There is a survey being conducted over on Apartment Therapy as to whether our Envirolet Waterless Toilet in Hot Pink is hot or not.

We, of course, think it is Hot! But, to each is own because the Not’s are winning so far… most would prefer a matching colour seat. Good idea. And, we do have the same item in white or beige for the less adventurous!

We agree and really like this list — especially because Envirolet composting toilets are on it!

thisnext.gif I was asked to contribute to the Earth Day Shopping Guide compiled by a group of “eco-stars” (their term not mine!) for ThisNext. I, of course, recommended our new Envirolet VF vacuum flush composting toilet along with a push lawn mower, backyard composter and the film Who Killed the Electric Car?

Canada's Worst Handyman 2 Eco-Sheds Being Auctioned Off

cwh2_ebay.JPG Money Going to Habitat for Humanity Canada

You can bid on eBay on the six eco-sheds built on Canada’s Worst Handyman 2 (previous post) from Discovery Channel Canada. The sheds are filled with $10,000 worth of new materials including an Envirolet in some sheds…

But, here’s the fun catch. Five of the 6 sheds were built by the show contestants (aka the “worst handymen/women!) and one was built by the experts. You do not know which shed of the six you are bidding on…but the money goes to a good cause. And, if you end up with the absolute worst handyman’s shed you get special bonus prize. They ask that bidders be within 100km radius of Greater Toronto because of the size of the items.

Good luck!

Canada's Worst Handyman Goes Green

worst_handyman.jpg Look for Envirolet on Canada’s Worst Handyman Season 2 in May on Discovery Channel Canada! This year there is a green element to the show this year with contestants making eco-friendly sheds, which of include an Envirolet composting toilet system.

Here’s a little more about the show from Channel Canada:

“Padlock your toolbox! Discovery Channel has rounded up another gang of disastrously inept unhandy men and women for Canada’s Worst Handyman 2. Last spring, Discovery Channel and Canada’s Worst Handyman introduced Canadian viewers to five do-it-yourselfers with reno ambitions that so exceeded their abilities that they’d left monumental home improvement disasters in their wake. Season 2 of the hit series, premiering Mon., April 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, features another motley (construction) crew committed to learning the ABCs of DIY.

In the nine-part second series, each of the five new bumbling builders - nominated by a friend, colleague or family member - is charged with the task of building a shed. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? But this is no ordinary shed - building a luxury eco shed from scratch is the ultimate battlefield for these tool-challenged handymen.

Watch for the Envirolet System to make its appearance on May 14. The synopsis (also from Channel Canada):

Canada’s Worst Handyman 2: “In Too Deep”
Mon., May 14 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
A surprising new addition to the group changes everything; and peace in the ranks is briefly restored… that is, until the handymen start grouting tiles and installing pine ceilings. Creature comforts inside the eco sheds start to take shape as high-tech hammocks and eco toilets are installed. Tempers heat up again, however, when the group works together on a wood-fired hot tub. See who is in hot water as the experts peg one of the team as this week’s Worst Handyman.

We can’t wait to see it! The eco-sheds are going to be auctioned off, with Envirolet inside, with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. More info on this when available.
