Envirolet at IDS08, Part 3

We first wrote about IDS08 on Friday when we posted a quick video. As promised, here are some of the photos from the Envirolet® installation at the Sarah Richardson’s My Country design, part of designLIVE feature at IDS08.

An Envirolet® composting toilet system was the perfect choice to handle sanitation in a sustainable and environment-friendly manner, two goals of the overall designLIVE project. This particular model uses only 0.5L of water per flush.

Ban the Flush

Facing Drought? We Have the Solution.

BUZZ WORD Facing drought in California, solutions are needed. From Yahoo! News:

“For half a century the saltwater lake had slaked the thirst of the urban sprawl of several million that is Los Angeles and its surrounding area, with tributaries flowing into the lake diverted towards the city.

The result of decades of plundering Mono Lake’s water supply were devastating. A key island in the center of the lake became a peninsula as water levels receded, exposing nesting grounds of gulls to hungry coyotes and forcing the birds to leave.”

Testimonials

Envirolet Basic Plus in Ohio: "Thank you for an outstanding product."

Thanks to Gary in Ohio for sending some nice photos and comments about their Envirolet Basic Plus composting toilet system (waterless non-electric all-in-one). Their Envirolet replaced an aging outhouse.

“Hello,

You were requesting some pictures of our Envirolet. We installed the system with breeze in our cabin in Michigan. We are in the Huron National Forest and getting a septic system was out of the question. We heard of Envirolet on the internet and was ordering the system the next day. We are so please to let you know it definitely comes in handy. We do have an outhouse that is centuries old and now we prefer the Envirolet System. Thank you for an outstanding product. “

Envirolet in The Clean Hub in New Orleans

Here is an early photo of the Envirolet DC12 (12v) composting toilet system in The Clean Hub (pre-fab housing made from a recycled shipping container) in New Orleans.

If you look (really) close you can see the Wind Turbine ventilator on the roof. Look at the image on flickr for a better view.

More photos to come!

Buzz Word

Envirolet User Helping to Spread the Buzz

BUZZ WORD Sheila, an Envirolet compost toilet user in Alberta, sent us a letter about her friend in New Zealand that she wanted us to share. Sheila has been able to convince her friend to come to the green side and make a difference!

“Hello again Scott,
A friend sent me this YouTube video. She is finally becoming aware of climate change. I again sent her your site address, as she just did not “get it” before - now that people are becoming aware that water will be a premium, they may start thinking ahead and get one of the toilets. Anyway - the more people that notice and think, is good.”

Sheila - your fan!

Thanks for helping spread the Buzz, Sheila! We appreciate it! Send us your Envirolet comments and photos!
